Join your fellow community members at the 3rd annual Litchfield Winter Fest. WinterFest is a large scale community event aimed at providing winter recreational activities to people of all ages.  The main goal of the event is to offer the community a memorable and enjoyable experience with family, friends, and neighbors at minimal cost.  Any funds raised during this event will be used to improve and expand recreational activities within Litchfield.

Updates to this site will be made as details become available.  Check back often for times and links for signups.

Litchfield WInterfest will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the local food pantry during the event.

Parents Night Out

Parents enjoy the night out and let our volunteers watch the little ones.  This year’s activities include a wildlife demonstration, provided by Wildlife Encounters (Voted Parenting NH Magazine’s “FAMILY FAVORITE” for 2014) as well as music, dancing and crafts.

5k Road Race / 2k Fun Run

Starting from Roy Memorial Park, the course winds its way through the neighborhoods of Litchfield.  Included with the race fee is a Winterfest 5k t-shirt.  Register by Jan. 24th to guarantee shirt size.  Prizes will be awarded to the best times in multiple age groups.

Race Map

  • Check-In: 8:00 to 8:30
  • 5k: 9:00 to 10:00
  • Fun Run: 10:00 to 11:00
  • $15, 10 and under free

Chili and Chowder Cook-Off

Do you think you make amazing chili or chowder? Compete against other town residents and enter chili or chowder in the Winter Fest Cook-Off. A panel of judges will choose the top 3 in each category (Chili / Chowder). Also, one “People’s Choice Award” in each category will be decided by public opinion. Dog Sleds

Back by popular demand!  Enjoy the thrill of a dog sled ride provided by Seal Cove JourneysThis event sold-out last year, so register early if interested.

Residents vs. Responders Hockey Game

Come watch members of the fire and police departments compete against Litchfield residents in this enjoying hockey game. If you are a Litchfield resident and have an interest to play, use the signup link.  The first 14 residents and 14 first responders to sign up will play.  The format will be a 1hr. game using “pond hockey rules”.  Novice and experienced players 18 yrs. old and up are welcome. No pads are required, helmets recommended.  Jerseys will be provided.  Hockey Rules

Cornhole Tournament

Come show off your cornhole skills at the 3rd Annual Winter Cornhole Tournament. 32 teams (2 players per team) will be competing for the title.  Shirts are also available for Players, alternates, and spectators for $10.  The first 64 to register will be entered.  Others will be placed as alternates in case of an open slot. The format will be Blind Draw for teammates / Double Elimination.  BYOB

If you are ordering a shirt please try to register / place your shirt order by 1/27 to guarantee the correct size!  Registration is limited to Litchfield Residents until Feb. 4th.  After that it will be open to anyone wishing to play.  Cornhole Tournament Rules

Pancake Breakfast

Wake up Sunday morning and come to Talent Hall for an old fashioned pancake breakfast. Pancakes, Sausage, Coffee, Juice and Milk will be served.

Archery

Interested in trying archery? Use this opportunity to give it a try.

Snowshoeing

The Conservation Commission will lead a tour throughout Darrah Pond and Roy Memorial Park. 25 pair, in various sizes, of snowshoes are available to use at no charge, while residents who have the equipment are welcome to participate.

Ice Fishing/Ice Fishing Clinics

NH Fish and Game “Let’s Go Fishing” program will be providing clinics for anyone 8 and older on Darrah Pond and open fishing to others. Equipment is provided for clinic participants.
