Join your fellow community members at the 3rd annual Litchfield Winter Fest. Organized by the Litchfield Recreation Commission, the event features numerous family activities, details of which can be found below in the Event Listing. All proceeds benefit Litchfield Recreation Commission’s activities and projects supporting the town of Litchfield. As you review the activities below, please take note that some require advanced signup as space is limited. 

There is no admission fee for WinterFest.  However, we are requesting donations of baked goods for the bake sale or a chili / chowder entry for the Cook-off.

The Keane’s and Perry’s were well represented this year!
Overall, we had 64 players competing and the tournament ran very smoothly.
63 games were played in well under 4 hours.
Thank you to Jen Biron for her assistance with bracket management and helping to keep things moving.

Parents Night Out/Kids Movie Night

Parents enjoy the night out and let our volunteers watch the little ones.  Activities will include a free movie as well as a performance from Mad Science.  Children are welcome to wear their pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket.  Children must be between 3 (potty trained) and 12. The price includes pizza, drinks and popcorn.  Check-in is from 5:30 to 6:00.

Saturday, February 14th


5k Road Race / 2k Fun Run

Starting from Roy Memorial Park, the course winds its way through the neighborhoods of Litchfield. 

Same day Registration and Number Pick-up from 8:00am-8:30am. First 100 5k registrants 10 yrs old and up will receive a free race t-shirt.

Chili and Chowder Cook-Off

Do you think you make amazing chili or chowder? Compete against other town residents and enter chili or chowder in the Winter Fest Cook-Off. A panel of judges will choose the top 3 in each category (Chili / Chowder). Also, one “People’s Choice Award” in each category will be decided by public opinion. Come watch members of the fire and police departments compete against Litchfield residents in this enjoying hockey game. If you are a Litchfield resident and have an interest to play, use the signup link.  Hockey Rules

Snowshoeing

Eastern Mountain Sports will be providing snowshoe instructions and the Conservation Commission will lead a tour throughout Darrah Pond and Roy Memorial Park. 25 pair, in various sizes, of snowshoes are available to use at no charge, while residents who have the equipment are welcome to participate.

Ice Fishing/Ice Fishing Clinics

NH Fish and Game “Let’s Go Fishing” program will be providing clinics for anyone 8 and older on Darrah Pond and open fishing to others. Equipment is provided for clinic participants.
